Mrs. Micah First Blogiversary and Giveaway!!

August 7th, 2008 · blogging tips & blog updates · 30 Comments

Well, Mrs. Micah has been around for a year now. I started this blog as a twitterpated newlywed (can you tell from the name?), a bit overwhelmed by the magnitude of the debt that she’d known about for years.

Over the year, the blog has migrated from Blogger to Wordpress.com to its own self-hosted site. I’ve learned a lot about personal finance (and more about blogging) developed some great friendships, joined a network, paid off debt, and even started a blog consulting business. It has been a busy year.

I’m celebrating with a giveaway! This giveaway is probably best for bloggers, but it can be used by anyone who has a website they’d like some work done on. As I mentioned, I’ve started a blog consulting and web design business. So I thought that I’d incorporate that into my giveaway.

What You Can Win

1. $35 worth of blog/web services from me. I would help you with a problem in your theme or a desired change, write up suggestions for improving ad positioning, etc. We could work out the details based on your site or blog’s particular needs.

2. A free 125×125 graphic from J at Budgets are Sexy. This can be used for an entrecard, header, or just as a logo. He collaborates at time with me, since I’m more into code than graphic design…and he offered to give this graphic since he owes me a favor. ;)

How to Enter

To enter, subscribe either to MrsMicah.com or to my new blog on blogging. Then e-mail me a special code phrase found at the bottom of posts in your feed reader (or e-mail). If you subscribe to both, you’ll get two entries, since the code phrase will be different.

Here are the links to subscribe to MrsMicah.com:

Subscribe in a feed reader.
Subscribe by e-mail.

And to subscribe to my blog about blogging/design:

Subscribe in a feed reader.
Subscribe by e-mail.

It’s as easy as that!

Thank You!!

It feels like an Oscar speech—I’d like to thank my husband for being so encouraging, my blogging friends for being so supportive (particularly the M-Network), my readers and commenters for all their feedback and for making the site a success along with me. Here’s to another good year with more personal finance, debt repayment, and blogging!

Edit: Two things. First, I forgot to add that this giveaway closes on August 13th. Second, the Meta blog hadn’t updated since I put up the code, so I’m adding something about the giveaway on there too and then it should give the code. Sorry about that.

    Yay! Congratulations!
Question though: I already subscribe to this blog via GoogleReader (and actually just subscribed to your other blog)…but I see no code!

Funny, I took the same path: first blogger, then self-hosted WordPress. Didn’t regret it. Blogging is addicting, isn’t it? ;-)

I share your twitterpation! I knew about my husband’s debt before we married (I even co-signed it), but now that we’re married, the thought of paying back that much money is terrifying!
