Preemies. So tiny, so vulnerable, so new. I feel kind of like one today.

Today’s my first work day in freelance. Well, I spent this morning in the hospital with the babies, but this afternoon I’m going to be looking for work. It’s exciting and scary. I plan to put up a couple ads on Craigslist and respond to some postings from around the web (using the handy tab folder I put together). Then in the evening I’m going to work on a sewing commission I already got.

Anyway, I’ve been meaning to do more blog roundups, so here’s my first go at it–some posts that caught my eye recently:

I love this idea that Carrie at Chocolate the Other White Meat came up with for Black Friday shopping! Why not save your spare change for a year and see how that ads up towards Christmas shopping? Carrie’s looking into a huge coin bank, but you could also take it periodically to the bank and put it in your Christmas club saving account.

KMC at Advanced Personal Finance wrote a couple important parenting/finance posts in the last week. First, did you know that you don’t need a child’s SSN to buy them a savings bond? Good news, because it keeps their ID safer. He also wrote about getting a savings account for his little girl. And why not, she’s already gotten her first credit card offer. At 3!

E.C. at Not Living on Ramen expressed something I periodically feel. Enough with the latte factor already! Unless your target audience is people who fritter away $80 a day or something.

Um…and over at Make Love Not Debt you can get your latte factor on in ING’s cafe. (ducks) There’s actually one not too far from my parents’ house (I grew up in DE, credit card and chemical central). I’d like to visit sometime, but it doesn’t have Saturday hours. We’ll see.

And I just discovered the Freelance Folder. Two of their recent posts I liked are 3 Reasons Your Business is Growing So Slowly (applies nicely to bloggers as well) and 3 Painful Ways You Lose Money Every Month (with a bonus 4th way).

Happy Monday!

Cool. You may already know the site, but I like http://www.freelanceswitch.com/ too.

It is a good site–I read it periodically but probably not as much as I should. :) I spend more time on the job board and less on the blog.
