Bleh — domain transfer

November 3rd, 2007 · blogging tips & blog updates · 2 Comments

So we’ve gotten to the frustrations and tears part of the whole moving process. I haven’t actually cried yet, but I’ve got that sinking feeling. Maybe I should get off the computer, but I’m waiting for tech support to e-mail me back. Perhaps I’ll go work on those little iPod cases.

In happier news, I had my first case commission, which was really exciting! I’ll post more details and a blog link later, but it seems pointless to do it now if the blog’s about to go down. (of course, maybe I won’t be able to switch it for a few days :( and I’ll post it here).

Oh, and the spreadsheet with my financial summary for October is still on my work computer. I could completely redo it with the receipts, but I think I’m just going to wait until Monday. *sigh*

Ok, find something productive, take loony pills, eat breakfast, check for tech support again.

*whew*

P.S. I’m also terrified because I don’t really know what to do with it once I get the blog domain transferred. But I think I might know what to do. I’ve been building websites since I was 16!!! but I’ve never had one “truly” hosted before, I’ve just done Geocities and Freewebs. And I’m a n00b all over again. :( *breathes* It can’t possibly be as bad as I’m imagining.

P.P.S. When all this is over, I’m writing a tutorial on exactly how to move from Wordpress to Dreamhost!

congrats on the new look, i like! i’m always impressed when people build their own blogs. i am a technological neophyte, so blogger is about as fancy as i’ll get. i’m still worried about attempting my progress bars :)

    Thanks. :)

I’m not going to stick with this look, but it was one of the ones which they offered in “themes” and it seemed so much nicer than the blue default.

I’m definitely getting the neophyte vibe as I do this, but things are coming together.
