Halloween commission and evening roundup…

In some happy news, I get to make this costume for a coworker’s 6 month-old daughter for Halloween. Particularly happy because it’s on commission and my coworker said she’d pay me over $50! That’s money for debt snowballing or possibly buying a winter coat. Or a bit of both, courtesy of thrift stores. I’ve been wearing the same thrift coat for 4 or 5 years, and it’s fine but it’s not professional at all.

I also wrote a Craiglist post draft for making curtains. Mr. Micah and I will be going over it to see how to make it better.

Here’s a roundup of some fun posts I ran across today.

Greenpanda (a blog I just discovered) writes about the growing movement against credit card pushers–those who get students to sign up for free t-shirts and that feeling of adulthood.

Scott H. Young gives us 15 ways to squeeze the most from 15 minutes. I particularly like the one about taking time to breathe. Very important to center periodically.

And The Digerati Life tells us the top 10 cheapest ways to exercise (10 is sex!)

Thanks for mentioning me here Ms. Micah! Wow, can you make clothes and stuff? That’s incredible — I am so useless when it comes to making stuff with fabric. I even tried to monogram some christmas stockings before and failed miserably so I had to have someone else do it! That’s a wonderful talent to have for sure.

I do sew a lot, quilts and clothes and other stuff… :-) I even made my own wedding dress! (and a friend trusted me to make hers!) I’m useless at some things, but I can sew. Some of the really elaborate stuff still eludes me.

Perhaps I should make the coat…I’ll have to see if there are any good patterns. Then I could add in the gift cards I got for my birthday and possibly Joann store coupons.
